Steve Bruce, Founder and Managing Director
Steve’s professional career started as a meteorologist in the British Army. He went on to serve with UK Force Artillery as an Arctic Warfare Specialist. Resigning from the Colours in 1995 he pursued a sales career which saw him rise to senior management.

He joined the leisure marine industry in 2005 moving into yacht brokerage with Seaquest Yachts where he sold new and used yachts in the UK and Europe. He became an Accredited Member of the Association of Brokers and Yacht Agents in 2006 where he regularly gave talks on new boat sales. He subsequently set up his own business, The SBS Ltd which started out in yacht management and has since taken on sales, marketing and more recently production of the FRIB foldable RIBs.

Ricky Cole, Technical Manager / Product Development
Rick started his professional career in 1999 with the Ford Motor Company as a master technician. He moved on to work as a driver and technician for Xero Competition running cars in European championships such as LMES (Le Mans Endurance Series) Belcar, and British GT with GT1/GT2 Corvettes. He later moved on to develop the Saleen S7R with Graham Nash for the FIA World Endurance Championship.

In 2015 Rick took a switch in direction and joined The SBS Ltd to develop the FRIB and electric propulsion businesses.

Clare Murray, Finance and Operations Manager
In 1993 Clare began her career as a charter yacht crew in the British Virgin Islands. The following season she moved on with her travels to take a position as crew on a privately owned yacht in the USA. Returning to the UK in 1996 she took a degree in Midwifery and worked in the profession until 2018.

In 2016, the opportunity to return to the marine industry part-time with The SBS Ltd became available. By 2018 she resigned completely from Midwifery and took up the role of Finance and Operations with the company.

Chris Rand, Sales Manager
Chris has a massive drive and is always active in the sporting community, from kitesurfing to a British champion squash player. Previously, he has worked on keeping vintage technology running to produce vinyl and audio cassettes in huge numbers for some of the world’s largest brands. Chris is an experienced electrical technician and now manages the Foldable RIB and ePropulsion dealer accounts as well as providing technical advice.

Kevin McEntee, After Care Manager
Kevin joined the team in 2021 to set up the after care management service. His background included working at Kwik-Fit, turning around failing franchisees and training up service teams. For FRIB and ePropulsion he’ll be developing training for electric propulsion installers alongside supporting customer services.
